The Open Records Portal was developed in response to legislation passed in the 2014 General Session Legislative session of the Utah Legislature, which requires the Department of Administrative Services, Division of State Archives to create an open records portal in consultation with the Utah Transparency Board.
The Utah State Records website provides every person with the right to gather, obtain, and examine public records. This ensures that Utah residents have access to this information in accordance with the Utah Government Records Access Act. This act states that all government information and records are available to the public.
Founded in 1888, Utah State University is Utah’s only land grant institution, serving over 28,000 students in Logan and around the state at Statewide Campuses, as well as at USU Eastern. Known for its robust and cutting edge research, Utah State challenges students to pursue academic opportunities that will change the world.
This training will cover those provisions of GRAMA needed to fulfill records requests. It is recommended that records officers taking this training download a copy of GRAMA to follow along in the training and mark up important provisions.
