Why We Eat The Wrong Food
There are many causes for unhealthy eating habits. Some are biological, and some are psychological. Over the years i’ve heard my patients describe many reasons for their unhealthy food choices. Here are the most common ones
- it’s a habit to eat bad foods.Some people are raised on regional/ethnic cooking that isn’t always healthy
- it’s convenient to eat bad foods. To my knowledge. there isn’t a health-food drive-through chain or take out restaurant food.
- it is a various cycle. People fall into a cycle of eating sugar, and the cycle perpetrates itself. When you eat a doughnut, you crave a sweet or starchy pick-me-up.
- Hormones make bad foods look good.The fluctuations in hormone levels during pregnancy, PMS and menopause can cause women to crave sweet and chocolate.
